THE HILLVIEW HOME - CERTIFIED PASSIVE HOUSE IN PERTH KARRINYUP

A Home Designed for Performance, Presence, and Quiet Luxury

CERTIFIED PASSIVE HOUSE IN KARRINYUP

Set within the coastal landscape of Karrinyup, this project is a carefully considered response to climate, orientation, and the evolving needs of modern family life. Designed as a certified Passive House, the home achieves an exceptional level of energy efficiency while maintaining a refined, grounded aesthetic.

At its core, this home is about balance—between performance and beauty, technology and nature, structure and feeling.

The form of the home is shaped by its northern orientation, allowing living spaces to open toward sunlight while being protected through carefully designed shading elements. This passive solar strategy ensures warmth in winter and protection from heat in summer, reducing reliance on mechanical systems.

Spatially, the home flows with intention—each zone connected yet defined, creating both openness and a sense of retreat. The layout supports daily rituals, family connection, and moments of stillness.

This project incorporates a full Passive House methodology, including:

  • High-performance building envelope with continuous insulation

  • Airtight construction to eliminate unwanted air leakage

  • Mechanical heat recovery ventilation (HRV) for constant fresh, filtered air

  • High-performance glazing to regulate internal temperature and comfort

The result is a home that maintains a stable internal environment year-round—quiet, comfortable, and deeply supportive of wellbeing.

While performance is measurable, the true success of this home lies in how it feels to inhabit.

Filtered light, stable temperatures, quiet interiors, and clean air combine to create an environment that supports nervous system regulation, clarity, and rest.

This is not just a sustainable home—it is a space designed to elevate everyday living.

The Karrinyup Passive House stands as a benchmark for what is possible when thoughtful design meets high-performance building principles.

It reflects a future-focused approach to architecture—where sustainability, wellbeing, and beauty are no longer separate conversations, but part of a unified vision.
