Floreat Healthy Home, Perth
What is a healthy home?
Most Perth homes are built to minimum code. Minimum code doesn't consider the air you breathe overnight, the light hitting your eyes at 10pm, or the chemicals released by synthetic paints, glues and furnishings.
A healthy home is designed with your body in mind. It brings together building science and thoughtful interior design, so every material, light source and room supports better sleep, steadier energy and long-term wellbeing.
This is what we call biohacking your home: small, deliberate design decisions that add up to a home that helps you feel well every day.
Our five pillars
No-blue-light LED downlights, warm evening lighting in bedrooms and living areas, and generous daylight during the day, so your home follows your natural sleep and wake cycle.
Mineral paints such as limewash, natural timber, stone, linen and organic cotton, chosen instead of synthetic finishes that release VOCs (volatile organic compounds) into the air you breathe.
Airtight construction with heat recovery ventilation (HRV) brings in filtered fresh air around the clock, reducing dust, pollen, mould and stale air. Passive House principles make it work.
Good insulation, quality double glazing and passive solar design keep temperatures steady, so your body isn't working to cope with a hot west room or a cold winter night.
Natural light, views to greenery, living plants and organic textures. Connection to nature is one of the simplest ways to make a home feel calm and restorative.
A home that supports deeper sleep, clearer air and a calmer mind, designed around how you live and what you can comfortably spend.

Frequently asked questions
What is healthy home design, and how is it different from sustainable design?
Sustainable design focuses on reducing a building's impact on the environment. Healthy home design asks how the building affects the people living in it: air quality, light, materials, temperature and connection to nature. The best homes do both, which is our approach.
What does "biohacking your home" mean?
It means using design to support your body: light that follows your sleep cycle, cleaner air, natural non-toxic materials and calm, nature-connected spaces. They're practical, evidence-informed choices, not gadgets. Read more in our article What does biohacking your home actually mean?
Can you design a healthy home for a renovation, or only new builds?
Both. We design new homes and renovations across Perth. The Floreat project is a full-house renovation and interior design. New builds give the most control over air quality and comfort, but a renovation can still make a big difference.
What is circadian lighting, and why does it matter?
Circadian lighting means matching the light in your home to your body's natural day and night cycle. Standard LED downlights give off a lot of blue light, which can disrupt sleep in the evening. We specify no-blue-light downlights and warm evening lighting, and bring in as much natural daylight as possible during the day.
Is a Passive House the same as a healthy home?
A Passive House is an excellent foundation, with filtered fresh air and steady temperatures. But it doesn't cover lighting, materials or biophilic design on its own. A truly healthy home layers wellbeing design on top of high-performance building. Learn about Passive House design in Perth.
Which areas of Perth do you work in?
We design healthy homes across Perth and WA, including Floreat, Subiaco, Wembley, Nedlands, Claremont, Cottesloe, City Beach, Scarborough, Karrinyup, Mount Pleasant, the Perth Hills and the Swan Valley.
